FRIDAY 2nd FEBRUARY

Check in at your selected airport for your flight to Rome. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your selected hotel where three nights’ accommodation has been reserved on a Bed & Breakfast basis. In the evening join John Bentley for welcome drinks and meet the tour group.
 

SATURDAY 3rd FEBRUARY

Spend the day at leisure exploring some of Rome’s iconic attractions.
 

SUNDAY 4th FEBRUARY

MATCH DAY! (KICK OFF – 1600 Hours Local Time)
ITALY v ENGLAND
After breakfast enjoy a morning at leisure before making your own way to the Olympic Stadium for today’s Six Nations Match, Italy v England. Kick off 1600 hrs local time. Evening at leisure.
 

MONDAY 5th FEBRUARY

After breakfast check out of the hotel. Luggage may be left with reception until your return transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK. Upon arrival, tour arrangements end.
 

4* BEST WESTERN HOTEL PRESIDENT

Just a 13-minute walk from the Colisseum, Best Western Hotel President is in central Rome, next to Manzoni Metro Station. It offers a rich breakfast buffet and free Wi-Fi. Spacious and air-conditioned, all rooms feature a 22” LCD TV with satellite channels. They are decorated with warm colours and light-wood furniture. President Hotel’s restaurant and bar serves classic Italian cuisine and Roman specialities. Vegetarian options and gluten-free food are available. Rome Termini Station can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. St John’s Basilica is just 500 metres away. Central Station is a great choice for travellers interested in monuments, architecture and history.

4* BEST WESTERN PLUS HOTEL UNIVERSO

A 19th-century building offering design interiors, Best Western Plus Hotel Universo is located 300 metres from Rome’s Termini Station. Its modern rooms have free WiFi and a 22” LCD TV. The hotel features a wellness area, complete with a sauna, well-equipped gym and a Turkish bath. The spacious and modern lobby has comfortable sofas and leads into the elegant Salone Costantino music lounge. Rooms at the 4-star Plus Hotel Universo are all air conditioned and feature a minibar. They are decorated mostly with black and white colours. A varied breakfast buffet is served starting from 6:30 and includes Italian coffee, croissants and ham and eggs. You can enjoy traditional Roman and international dishes at the hotel’s 2 restaurants. Special diet menus are available upon request. This Best Western Hotel is just 150 metres from the Opera Theatre and a 5-minute walk from Via Nazionale, a famous shopping street. All other areas can be easily reached from Termini Station.

 

We are very proud to have a 12 year relationship with John through 4 Lions tours to New Zealand 2005/2017, South Africa 2009 and Australia in 2013. His love for rugby and endless energy and enthusiasm make him a perfect host. John has made many friends through the years with LWTL clients and it is clear why, his genuine interest in everyone is so obvious and he is definitely not one to shy away from getting involved to add to the experience of all on tour. John can’t wait to meet the clients in Rome.

Hi Jo, Back now safe and sound after a great holiday. Thanks to you and LWTL for arranging everything. It all went very well and we shall certainly be recommending you to our friends. I thought your service was by far the best of the companies I approached and was good value.Despite the weather in HK (and you only delivering a second place for England!) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and our trip to Phuket was very good. Jo, I can say without doubt that this trip will take some beating. The transfers to Singapore and back were smooth and the whole Raffles thing surreal. The sevens were the craziest most fantastic occasion with an adequate, comfortable room with great service and view from 31st floor. Good of you to lay on the thunder and lightning which was an added show. As for you, you were great. There when we needed you with a warm welcome and advice but never in our faces. Thank you.
