Waldorf Tetra Apartments offer spacious apartment accommodation in the heart of Auckland CBD (Central Business District), just 50 m from the shops, entertainment and restaurants of Queen Street. Guests receive 1GB of free WiFi per day. All apartments at Tetra Waldorf offer kitchenettes and combined dining/lounge areas. Laundry facilities are provided and local telephone calls are free. Guests can work out at the on-site fitness centre. Waldorf Tetra Apartments are located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Auckland University, the Sky City and The Civic Theatre. Astelia Apartment Hotel is a 10-minute walk from the nightlife of Courtenay Place and the shopping and entertainment district of Cuba Street. Boasting stunning views over Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown, this friendly hotel is located just outside the lively town centre. It features a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool and an elegant restaurant. Guests enjoy 1GB of free WiFi per night. Heritage Queenstown offers modern, alpine-style accommodation in peaceful, scenic surroundings. In a typical mountain style, the buildings are made from centuries-old schist stone and cedar wood. The property is 20 minutes’ walk from the centre of Queenstown and a 10-minute drive from Shotover River. It is 13 minutes’ drive from Queenstown International Airport. MOUNT COOK OPTION – HERMITAGE HOTEL, 4* (2 nights from 2nd July)
Set in Mount Cook National Park, this modern lodge-style hotel is a 5-minute walk from Aoraki Mt Cook National Park Visitor Centre, and 3 km from Kea Point. Bright rooms have satellite TV, minifridges and Wi-Fi (fee), plus tea and coffeemaking facilities. Some rooms have balconies, and upgraded rooms add Nespresso machines and sofas. Separate A-frame chalets have kitchenettes and dining areas. Room service is offered. ITINERARY
WEDNESDAY 28th JUNE
Check out of your apartment and transfer to the Ferry Terminal. Take the early morning (8am) crossing across the Cook Straits to Picton on South Island. Board your waiting coach and travel through the renowned Marlborough region to the Brancott Wine Estate for lunch and a wine tasting. After lunch you will continue to the Witherhill winery for a visit and tasting of their Pinot and Sauvignon wines with the Chardonnay and Riesling grapes also on offer. Continue to Blenheim for your overnight accommodation at Chateau Marlborough on a B&B basis. Dinner this evening is included and has been booked at the nearby Raupo Cafe, a short walk from the hotel.
THURSDAY 29th JUNE
After breakfast check out of your hotel and rejoin your coach for the transfer to Kaikoura (approx 2 hours). On arrival there will be time for lunch (own expense) before boarding the boat for today’s Whale Watch Cruise. Later in the afternoon continue to Christchurch and to your hotel for 3 nights accommodation on a BB basis.
