Visiting Hong Kong
A trip to the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong 7’s is not only a chance to enjoy the rugby, but also make the most of the vibrant city of Hong Kong. We’ve put together a guide to just a few of the best sights you can’t afford to miss.
Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade
As a major tourist hub, a stroll along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade takes you through the Avenue of Stars, right the way along past the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Space museum and Hong Kong Museum of Art. Don’t miss the ‘Symphony of Lights’ show, performed every night at 8 PM.
The Peak
The highest point in Hong Kong remains the most popular attraction in the city. Not only do the stunning views across the skyscrapers of Hong Kong take your breath away, but the attractions at the top are worth visiting too. Take the tram to the top of the Peak and climb the iconic Peak Tower to the Sky Terrace for a 360 degree view.
Temple Street Night Market
Forget Soho’s China Town, visit the Temple Street Night Market for the real thing. Here, you can pick up a fake Rolex, have your fortune told, eat claypot rice from the dai pai dong (open-air street stalls) or just enjoy the theatre of the street market.
Heli-Tour
If you’ve got around £600 to spare, then you could whirl around Hong Kong in your very own chartered helicopter. It’s only 15 minutes, so unless you’ve got money to burn, make the most of it!
