Fancy Something Different? Try The Far East!

Fancy Something Different? Try The Far East!
In years gone by sports tours have been a few days in a cramped B&B where you hope that your fixtures against the local teams won’t be rained off. Sound familiar? Well luckily things have moved on since then and now there are a whole range of destinations you can choose from including Europe, Australia and of course, the Far East.

The exotic countries of the Far East are the perfect way to combine culture with sport. With locations such as India, Singapore, and Malaysia on offer you won’t have to worry about being stuck in a chintzy guest house!

Here’s a little look at what you can expect to find in these gorgeous locations.

India
It might not be the first country on your list of suitable sports tour destinations, but if you’re a cricket or hockey fan then this could be right up your street. Mixing a vibrant culture with geographical diversity and mesmerising attractions you’re sure to have a tour to remember.

Most tour companies begin the trip in Delhi where you’ll have the chance to explore the big local attractions such as the Taj Mahal and Humayun’s Tomb. From there your trip could take you to Mumbai, Jaipur, Goa, or Agra. The world really is your oyster!

India is also a great destination if you want to get involved in community projects and really get to know a different culture. And of course all of this is combined with a thrilling sports itinerary!

Singapore
Singapore offers something completely different and if you’re looking for a modern, state of the art location then this is the place for you. As well as the numerous beautiful city parks the main attractions include Orchard Road and Sentosa Island.

If you’re continuing your journey on to Australia then this is the perfect stopover city, but it also works equally well if you’re looking to combine it with a few days in Malaysia.

Hockey, netball and football are the most popular sports and you’ll find fixtures readily available all year around. If you want cricket or rugby then you’ll find the choice of age groups and skill levels more limited, but there’s no reason why there shouldn’t be something to suit your team’s needs.

Malaysia
Vibrant, cosmopolitan and diverse; three words that perfectly sum up Malaysia and its capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Similarly to India there are plenty of community or charity projects you can get involved in, or if you’d rather just spend your down time on the beach then head to Penang or Malacca.
All popular sports are available so whether you’re a football team looking for an end of season party or a coach looking for cricket tours Malaysia is a great choice.

Every Far East destination offers a great opportunity to explore outside of Europe without having to travel as far as Australia or New Zealand. Weather conditions mean that the Easter holidays or summer months are the best time to travel and many tour companies offer all inclusive packages with return flights and sports fixtures as an added bonus.
